To make your supply chain visible, determine:
- What are starting and finishing points of your supply chain?
- Do you finish with ultimate customer for your
products/services or do you finish with just
your immediate customer?
- Do you go back just to your direct suppliers
or do you go back to supplier's suppliers?
- What departments in your organization should
be in included in supply chain (e.g. purchasing, accounting, receiving)?
- Do you want supply chain to be visible on
regular basis or just
periodically when you perform analysis?
These and many other questions need to be addressed when
deciding how to make your supply chain visible.
