Just like any other business management technique, business process
management has a series of tools. These tools can be described as follows:
- Business Process Mapping: defining graphically all steps and activities
required to create a cross functional output.
- Business Process Metrics: Performance Measures at the process level
(rather than the department level) for cost, time, and quality
- Business Process Managers: a business process owner who is responsible
and has authority over the entire process as well as a business process
manager who manages the entire process on a daily basic.
- Business Process Philosophy: we will manage our organization at the
process level first and at the department level second
